Loved-up newly-weds Beryl and Tim Evans move into 10, Rillington Place and are given house rules, including to keep out of the back yard. They have a baby, Geraldine, but Christie plays on their financial woes and plants suspicion of his wife's infidelity in Evans' mind. So, when Beryl falls pregnant again Christie, claiming medical experience, offers to perform a termination - with fatal results. Afterwards he persuades the simple young widower that they should dispose of her body, lying about her whereabouts.
