Having survived the attempt on his life, Thomas calls on Jimmy, who believes that he did not kill Sally. Sally's boyfriend Alan Killick is a suspect in Thomas' abduction, but DNA evidence suggests that his father murdered Lizzie, leading to an exhumation. The hunt for Sally's murderer switches to the oil company Forst Energy and its agent on Shetland, Andreas Hagan, whom Sally met in Norway regarding a cover-up of worker Danny Hamilton's death.
